What To Expect
What are your service times?
Our worship services take place at 9 am and 11 am Sundays at Open Arms Bradford, 1289 E. Main St., Bradford, and 10 am Sundays at Open Arms Port Allegany, 105 Smith Ave., Port Allegany. At 11 am Sundays, our online services for Open Arms Bradford air on Facebook and YouTube and 10 am Sundays on Facebook for Open Arms Port Allegany. Services last for about an hour.Where do I park?
Bradford: Our top parking, just off East Main Street, is reserved for the handicapped and elderly. As you turn on to Tuna Cross Road, to go behind the church, there are two parking lots: a middle and lower lot. Newcomers are encouraged to park in the middle lot. Regular attendees are encouraged to park in the lower lot.
Port Allegany: Our parking lot has two entrances. One entrance is a single driveway off of Smith Street, left side, where parking is available along the left side of the driveway. Also this driveway continues into our parking lot where available spaces continue along the left. The second entrance is along Church Street that enters directly into our driveway where available spaces are along the right side from this entrance.I don’t have transportation to church. How can I attend?
At Open Arms Bradford, we have a bus that picks up and drops off people at select locations for the 11 am Sunday service. Times and pick up locations include the following: 10:30 am, Barbour St. near the public housing across from the VFW -10:35 am, Marilyn Horne Hall across from Veterans Square -10:40 am, Tops entrance, East Main St. -10:45 am, Togis, East Main St.What should I wear?
We are a “come as you are” church, so you will find most people dressed casually (jeans, T-shirt, etc.), but some dress up. Dress comfortably. What are the people like?
We are a warm, friendly people who are excited about all God is doing in our lives and look forward to meeting people like you! You can expect to be greeted by many people from the church. We are not stuffy or religious. We come from all backgrounds and life experiences, so no matter who you are, where you’ve been, or what you’ve done, you are welcome, loved, and wanted by Jesus and our goal is to communicate that message in word and deed. What’s the environment like?
Very casual, upbeat, and happening. In fact, we provide engaging music and an inspirational message each Sunday in person and online. What do I do with my children?
Children's Ministry takes place at 9 am and 11 am at Open Arms Bradford. Bible Adventures is for children 0 to 3 years old. Next Generation is for ages 4 to 11. Activities include a Bible lesson, prayer journals and more. A nursing mother’s room is also available.
Activity packets are available for children at the Port Allegany campus during the 10 am service, as as well for children at the 9 am or 11 am services at Open Arms Bradford.
Is there anything for my teenager?
We believe that teenagers need to mature by being around adults and learning to participate and contribute in adult activities, so during church service they are a regular participant. We have teens playing in the band and running the computers. We also recognize teens need their own time, so students in 6th through 12th grades meet starting at 6 pm Sundays at Open Arms Bradford. What do you teach or believe?
We believe the Bible as God’s Word. We talk about what the Bible says about practical everyday life issues that we all face, both the good times and the struggles, and how we can do things God’s way to get God’s results in every situation. We are also part of the Free Methodist Church-USA denomination.
